So it’s important to find out that because if you are a dependant your filing requirement is lower and you may indeed have a tax liability. Or sometimes we are filing to get all of your refund back. Now with the New Expanded Education Credits it’s important also to know which credit you are eligible for. The New American Opportunity Credit is available for the first four years of college and even a portion of that could be refundable.”
