Officer Candidates give a big thumbs up as they complete their five mile road march while attending OCS in Salina, KS on 14 June 2010. If successful, these candidates will go on to become Second Lieutenants in the Army National Guard.


On June 14, 2010, soldiers in the Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Salina, Kan., woke up 4:30 a.m. to the not-so-soothing sounds of their company platoon trainers cajoling them from their bunks.
